Fresh Baked Italian Bread
Some nights you just need bread to finish off the platter, and our Homemade Focaccia won’t disappoint! This recipe is so easy to make and will be baked quicker than running to the store to grab a loaf. All you need is a few simple ingredients to put this fresh focaccia together for the whole family.
Simple Two Ingredient Dough
All you need for the dough in this recipe is self-rising flour and plain Greek yogurt! Although surprising, this two-ingredient dough comes together to make the perfect textured focaccia. Greek yogurt acts as an acid to activate the baking powder in the self-rising flour while also adding a tangy flavor and moist texture. Another benefit of Greek yogurt is that packs in the protein to give you a nice muscle-building boost. You can even mix and match different toppings with this dough with new herbs, spices, and even additions like cheese and caramelized onion. With so many different options, besure to let us know how you customized this recipe in the comment section below!
Bake this Simple Fresh Bread
Bake this simple Homemade Foccacia to pair with any family meal! First, mix the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt to combine. Place the dough onto a floured surface and knead several times. Form it into a ball. Pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil into a 9×9-inch lined baking dish and spread the oil across the bottom. Add the ball of dough and flatten slightly. Turn to coat both sides with olive oil, then flatten the dough once more to fill the dish.
Press your fingertips into the dough to form dimples. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with rosemary, garlic, and sea salt. Bake the bread at 400˚F for 30-35 minutes. We recommend serving this bread warm, however, you can store it in an airtight container for up to 2 days!
